Geographic Information System (GIS) tools were vital in generating the analysis necessary to estimate true risk from
a violent class tornado. Communicating the results was also important, and the GIS tools provided opportunities
for that. Visualization, particular in 3-D, added geographic perspectives to the numbers. The views could be
animated, which provided a chance to watch the GIS perform its analysis as the tornado moved through the Urban landscape
of Dallas-Fort Worth and the surrounding 16-County area.
