Project Description:  Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Department is proposing to close and reuse the Z Boaz Golf Course, located in the south APZ, as a regional park. The proposal is being provided to the Parks Board and City Council for approval. The golf course is scheduled to close on Sept. 30 and the park to open
Oct. 1. NAS FW JRB staff has worked closely with PACS staff through the planning process to ensure that the redevelopment activities are compatible with the base's functions. Below summarizes some adjustments that have been made as a result of this communication.
1. An existing pond was proposed to be converted to wetlands. These have been removed.
2. No playgrounds or people intensive uses in APZ's.
3. Coordinate on issues related to height and lighting (no foreseeable problems)
4. Noise will be experienced on the site. An interpretive display has been proposed warning of the noise but also educating about the planes; similar to ones that are being proposed for Casino Beach.

This is for informational purposes only; no comments are necessary unless you prefer to leave any. The master plan is completing the approval process and will be implemented as funds are available.
