CityNet offers a tier one Enterprise Resource Planning software package combined with hosting in a Level 4 – the highest level – data center.  Entities using CityNet can implement a proven configuration of Lawson software, one that is used by other governmental entities in Texas, with significant savings on implementation costs or can select a traditional implementation methodology.  Risks are always high in complex software application implementations.  This solution provides entities a way to minimize that risk by using a proven configuration.

Lawson’s web-based, integrated applications encompass:

  • Human capital management
  • Financial management and reporting
  • Budget formulation and execution
  • Procurement
  • Employee and manager self-service
  • Workflow and process automation
  • Document imaging
  • Integrated information access

These mission-critical business systems can be hosted by Velocity Consulting in a Level 4 data center, which provides the highest level of redundancy available.  Velocity also provides technical and application support for the Lawson software suite and is available for additional assistance through NCTCOG based on defined requirements and competitive, negotiated rates.  Velocity currently hosts Lawson for more companies than any other entity.

If an entity is not interested in pursuing hosted applications, the software can be purchased and installed in the city’s data center.  Internally hosting the software still affords the options discussed above of selecting an implemented and proven configuration to minimize risks.

NCTCOG’s Shared Services programs are programs of choice.  They are designed for flexibility so the programs can be made available to a wide variety of entities and meet each entity’s specific needs.  If a particular option is not listed that you believe would make this program attractive to you, contact us and we will determine if the option you desire is available.

As with all NCTCOG Shared Services programs, this program can be accessed simply by signing an Interlocal Agreement with NCTCOG.  NCTCOG has followed a process that meets all the competitive procurement regulations, negating the requirement for entities to go through the request for proposals process.
